All,

We know we have our largest membership in CA. Well over a hundred members. Yet there are only about 10 active members. And yes, these 10 are extraordinarily dynamic, but we need more. In particular we need more members in SoCal.

Those of you who have already signed up as volunteers -- please attend the weekly call this Thursday at 9pm PST. Once you are on the call, please speak up, take the initiative and work on something.

Respond to the weekly emails.

- Convince at least one more person to become a member
- Convince at least one more person to contribute
- Post our flyers in your neighborhood or workplace
- Come up with other ways to get the word out
- Join a lawmaker team
- Start a lawmaker team and make an appointment

IV cannot run without your help and fervour.

I have an approved i140 from old employer, using which I am planning to file i485 (As PD from old PERM/i140 is current for the month of Aug. & no labor filed for ne employer). As I am in good terms with old employer, they are ready to give me a "future employment letter" for my GC processing.

Can someone please let me know -
1. Format of the letter, details thats needs to be present in it,
2. Anything else I need from the old employer.

Everybody please post the names of attorneys who are easy / not easy, safe / not safe to deal with. People can post the names of the attorneys and a brief description (without specifics) about the problems / happy endings, they encountered. This could become an excellent review post for immigration lawyers. we could also maybe put 3 or 4 criteria to score them from 1 to 4. for eg:-
availability to answer questions
timely filing
acurate filing (with all documents)
current with legal provisions and latest changes
overall easiness to work with
cost
etc etc
Experts pls join in to fix the scoring pattern. We need to know the crooks and the good samaritarians out there.

My company filed my 7th year H1 extension and my wife's H4 petition at the same time in Dec 2006. USCIS online case status shows received and in process for both H1 and H4.

Recently, we upgraded to premium processing. However, only the H1 case status now shows as being done under premium processing. Does that mean that only my H1 will be premium processed and not H4 even though they both were filed together. Is this normal. I am hoping both H1 and H4 will be premium processed. I know that USCIS adjudicates H4 also in premium processing for such cases as a courtesy. Just wanted to know if anyone has been under similar situation before and got only their H1 approved in premium and not H4....The whole purpose of me upgrading to PP was to get H4 approved before the H1 quota begins in April as our H1/H4 were expiring this summer and my wife's employer is filing a H1 COS petition for her in PP under the 2008 H1 quota....Didn't want to take any chance of her H1 COS getting approved without a I-94 because of her current H4 expiring in summer.

Hi,

I have a EB3 labor and 140 approved with PD->12/2002. By 12/2002 I do have 5yrs experience but now (2007) I do have 5yrs experience and I am eligible for EB2.

My question to the gurus is can I use my EB3 PD for EB2 with new employer and can apply for 485 which is current for 12/2002?

Also, while during this transistion/waiting for EB2 labor and 140 with the new company what happens that my previous employer cancels my GC application? Can I still use that PD ?

1. You dont need to extend I94. The pending 485 petition keeps you in legal status. You can keep working based on EAD.
2. Yes you maybe able to switch back to H1B. But NO, you may not get 2 years (the clock doesn't stop).

1)My I 94 expires in 2 months.I don't want to extend H1 and I want to use EAD.So how can I extend my I94 if I start using EAD?

2)I finished 4yrs of stay on H1B. If I don't extend H1B now and start using EAD, if by any reason my 485 denies in future, can I switch back to my H1B and work for the remaining 2yrs on H1B?

I recently applied for a PAN Card. Got a DD through my parents in India and sent the form. Today they sent a mail with following --

1) We are yet to receive payment for application.- Kindly e-mail Cheque /DD no. and date on which amount has been debited from your account


2) Photograph provided is not proper for scanning.

Have any one faced similar problem ? A valid DD was included and they say they did not receive the payment ?? Also, the photo was of right size and clear enough so I am not sure what else to do.

Any help will be greatly appreciated
check with your bank whether they cashed the DD. tell them DD is lost - they might cancel old one & issue new one.

Photograph - no idea. call them & find out.
